Lots of great restaurants in the area!!
No "Chain" restaurants either, in our adventures....
For instance...there's the Dog House for breakfast....that comes with 50's music, lots of canine "chachka" filling the walls....and a framed article from the paper that states they roll out the best eggs Bennedict in the area...our waitress was fabulous in her gold hoop earings .....
For those of you from New Jersey, the Taylor egg and ham sandwich went beyond EXCELLENT!
Downtown Jensen Beach is only about a mile from our marina and the local fare is pretty awesome....There is Crawdaddy's which from its name you can guess serves up "N'awlin's" fare. The waitresses wear shorts and skirts in a hot chille pepper print....and the homemade sauce on the table tells you why....
Just a bit north of town is "Crabby Joe's" where the meat just falls off the bones of their barbeque....and the Chonch chowder is served up with a bottle of sherry, which they just plunk down on the table for you to add to your taste....it is right on the water...and the rooms ramble on and on...like they added them one at a time as the need presented itself...the local fisherman who grace the bar are sunbronzed, wrinked, skinny and bearded....
We took a day trip up to Vero Beach and stumbled on another find....this one loaded with wraught iron grillwork and lots of eclectic art..even the ladies room stall doors had paintings on them...here are Keith and Helaine in front of the wood burning fireplace...
The Big Apple Bagel and Deli has HUGE muffins.....which makes breakfast at home a treat in itself.
HUNGRY?
